take a number IB163

paper hugs from the heart ♥ week eight

We are back with a new challenge this week @ IB card challenges.

I was inspired by the number 21 this week and the balloon in the bottom right corner.

I was inspired to make a BIG balloon but decided to create it out of vellum and stencil star confetti and dry emboss.  The balloon is so shiny and yet sheer to see the stamped images behind, fun.

 Happy 21st birthday card
Robin bird is turning 21, with his big vellum balloon, greetings and branches, it's a special day, one to definitely celebrate.

A few leafy stems were stamped, die cut and ink-blended from a floral set from Ink to Paper.  I have used this set in SO many ways, I don't think I could every tire of creating with it, it's so versatile.

My background was stamped with The Greetery Pretty Postmark stamps.  This stamp set and die set is so gorgeous like everything they produce, makes creating feel a little indulgent and so very special.

The vellum balloon was cut with my Silhouette and then I cut a stencil using my Silhouette, ink-blended some confetti stars, and dry embossed it with clear embossing powder.  If you look closely, you can faintly see that you can see the stamped postmarks and 21 images behind the vellum balloon.

And here's the sketch this week, inspired by the photo inspiration.

Guest Designing for TTTC100

Hello!  This is my second post of the day, and I am excited to share that I am guesting over on the Tic Tac Toe Challenge blog this week for their fun 101 challenge board.

What a fun board! I was instantly drawn to the top left diagonal row down: cute critter, dots, hugs/miss you.

Hug Me card

I die cut, stenciled and ink blended
a lot on this card today.
To create the ink-blended blue brick wall,
I blended my Papertrey Ink Fresh Snow ink over heavy white cardstock. Once it had a good coat of the ink, I blended my blue over the top of the white.  After I achieved my desired shade, I heat dried the panel.  It is silky smooth to the touch and the blue is so beautiful.

I have blended the blue, that I used on this card, on a piece of cardstock below to share the difference.  On the left I blended just the blue ink and on the right, the cardstock had a layer of fresh snow and then the blue over the top. (I heat set it for a minute, but you could always leave it while you work other parts of your card)

(click picture to see it larger)

I cut and blended my heart using the same technique and Distressed Ink Picked Rasberry.  I die cut my bear, masked off his top half so I could ink blend some pants on him.  I used a dot stencil to create his scarf.

I stamped the beautiful The Greetery flower and die cut it using the coordinating dies. I can't get enough of this set, there are so many uses for those "Lovely Blossoms".

I then adhered the top of my bear with some mounting circles and the bottom directly to the brick panel, so it feels like the bear is coming away from the card to hug someone.

This was sure a fun challenge and I look forward to seeing what others create for the challenge and how the board inspires them.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Any Day card

I was inspired by this quote:  Any day spent with you is my favorite day. So, today is my new favorite day. A.A. Milne  It is a favorite quote of mine, I love it and love Pooh.  I found these fun silhouette images on Etsy from RK's Kitchen and cut them on my Silhouette.

I wanted to allow pooh and piglet to be the main focal of my card, because I love them so much, and so I decided my details would be in my ink-blended scene.  I created a cloud and grass stencil template and began blending several shades of blue and green.  This is a slimline card, fun to create these with silhouettes.

And here's the sketch this week, inspired by the photo inspiration.

TTTC100 it's your day

Good morning!  I was really excited to come across the challenge @ Tic Tac Toe challenges because several of the rows connect to yellow and yellow has always been one of the colors I haven't reached for often.  I don't know why because I really love the results and happiness I feel when creating with it and so I need to work on my hesitation.

I chose the left top diagonal down: yellow, free and gingham

I stamped my gingham using The Stamp Market Just Checkin In stamp set (discontinued) and Memento Rose Bud stamp pad.

I stamped the flowers and sentiment using Ink to Paper Birthday Bouquet stamps and dies.

Thank you for stopping by and letting me share today.

pretty as a pitcher

paper hugs from the heart ♥ week six

We are back with a new challenge this week @ IB card challenges.

Get Well Soon card

I was inspired by the vase, colors, flowers,
theme, and sketch.

To create my vase, I stamped layered flowers onto vellum and heat embossed them.  I then layered the pitcher over ink blended cardstock.

krafty love

paper hugs from the heart ♥ week five

We are back with a new challenge this week @ IB card challenges.

Hello Love card

I was inspired by the petite flowers, colors, kraft,
hearts, love theme, and sketch.
I wanted to create and focus on the petite flowers (embossed), with a split design.  I love the look of these colors and kraft together.  The "Hello Love" is stamped in kraft color and heat embossed so there is a shine to the quote bubbles.

And here's the sketch this week, inspired by the photo inspiration.

You Make Me Happy card

I created the background using embossing powders, dry embossed the circles onto vellum, and then heat embossed.  The flowers were stamped in Distress Ink Antique Linen and then I used my pencils to color them.
