Inspired By Day Filled with Joy

Good morning!  We are back with another challenge this week over at Inspired By card challenges.

I wish I hadn't been sick this week with a head cold because I would've created several cards (I still may come back to this one because it just makes me so happy and I can think of so many other cards when I look at it)
I digress, sorry.

This week, I was inspired by:

The gorgeous flowers
The xos
The placement of the items on the runner
The black on white striking combo with pink splashes

May Your Day Be Filled with Joy Card

Every week the challenge photos are so amazing, every single week, and this week just made me gasp.  See what I mean?
I angled the sentiment strips to resemble the xos on the table runner.
I die-cut the bow from the Ink to Paper Birthday Bouquet dies, love them.

I loved the xos all over the table runner but decided that I would allow one, ombre distressed "xo", to make my statement since my card wasn't intended to be a valentine card.  I decided to use the negative strip too and adhere the "x" on top of the strip and the "o" peeking out behind the strip.

I wanted to make sure to add the touches of black back into the white space, so I decided to stamp my sentiment from the new Ink to Paper It's a Sign Birthday set in black and allow it to represent more of the "xos".
The rest of the team's creations are amazing and I hope you check them out!
Thank you for visiting!

IB Gallery Inspiration Week 3

I am back this week with another card "Inspired By" one of the cards from THIS GALLERY.  I had such a hard time choosing again this week because there are so many awesome designs and so many things to love about so many of the cards.
This week, I chose a card by Cat Craig (check out her awesome blog too).  I love her design so much (theme too, but I need to create a baby card and this was the perfect inspiration to do so).  What really drew me was the angled scallop separating the sentiment from the patterned paper.  I haven't created an angled card in awhile and her card reminded me how much I love these kinds of designs, her card is just awesome!  Here is her awesome card that inspired me this week

And here is my baby card I created inspired by her card.

hello ♥ world ♥ card

My card was also inspired by the baby shower announcement below that I received for one of my son's best friends.

I cut the feathers using my Silhouette Cameo.  I then used some inks to distress the feathers to match the announcement.
Thank you for visiting!

Happy Bouquet

We are back with another challenge over at Inspired By.  I love this challenge picture because it is so very pretty and can be interpreted so many ways.

I was inspired by the colors, the framing, the gallery of frames/elements and ampersand and the flowers (pretty much everything...smile)

Here is the beautiful prompt
And here is my card inspired by the photo
Happy Bouquet card
I was really excited to be able to use the Ink to Paper Birthday Bouquet stamp set for this card, so beautiful!

I cut a decorative frame and ampersand and then added some interest with a little paint.

Make sure to check out the DT creations this week, they are so inspiring!

Critter Cards

Good evening, my last post of the night.
We had today off of work so I am trying to be productive in a lot of areas.

I am back to share a couple of cards created for a new-to-me challenge over at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenges.  I am happy to find this fun challenge site because I am always creating cards with "critters" and the challenge is to "create anything with a critter as the focal on it". (yay)

Wonderful Birthday card

For this card, I used Lili of The Valley Rabbit with Daisy digital stamp.  I love this cute bunny and her cute daisy

Happy Birthday card
For this card, I used Lili of The Valley Rabbit with Daisy digital stamp again and added large Scripty Words stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn
Thank you for visiting!

don't peek!

Hello!  This is my second posting of the day, two challenges in one day is a great day when I am trying to stock back up on my card supply.
I created this card for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge challenge.
This week they are hosting a theme challenge for creating a Christmas card (so fun!)

I love these challenges!
I am staying on schedule for making all my Christmas cards ahead of time and that makes me incredibly happy.  And, with each new challenge, comes a lot of creativity and original cards for my recipients, win!

Here is my card for this week's challenge.

Don't Peek card

I decided to create a file folder design this time for my card base (it's been a long time since I've created one and my recipients usually enjoy the different style of card)

(click pictures to see details of glittered papers)
I used lots of silver glittered paper to create the bows and ribbon for the gifts and so this card turned out very sparkly.  I dry-embossed some circles using my Cuttlebug to add some more dimension to the card base but not distract from the sparkle of the gifts.

Thank you so much for visiting!

oh baby. love hearts

Good afternoon!
I am back with two cards that I created for the current challenge over at Twofer Card ChallengeThey are celebrating their 2nd anniversary and having a fun party!

The theme is HEARTS!  How fun!
I created a LOVE card and a BABY card using the same 3-heart die run through my cuttlebug.  I am sorry I do not remember the maker of the die, it is oh so old, but it cuts three size-variation hearts and is perfect for this challenge.

This challenge being a design challenge using the same focal element with two different designs of cards allowed me to play with my more CAS style and my layering style, how fun!

Here are the cards I created pictured together
(click pictures to see the vellum hearts)

oh baby card

On this card, I die cut the hearts one time through Cuttlebug and used them as my focal for the "daddy, mommy & baby" makes three.

I stamped the Hampton Art "oh baby." sentiment using Color Box Silver ink and it really shimmers in-person.  Once it was dried, I painted polka dots using black acrylic paint and a toothpick.

LOVE card
(click pictures to see the layered vellum hearts easier)

On my second card, LOVE, I die cut the hearts four times through the Cuttlebug using vellum paper.  I layered the hearts and stitched them together, added a button to each and the letters to spell "LOVE".

I hope you can see the two different sketches in my cards!

Shh Quiet

We are back with another challenge over at  Inspired By card challenges.
This week was a fun challenge and took me a bit to decide how to approach it.  Originally, I planned a baby-themed card but decided to go with a get well card for our uncle.

Shh Quiet get well card
inside sentiment: Marine resting (with one eye open of course)
I love this CUTE DIGITAL STAMP and have colored him several times more for other cards, so fun!
Check out all the cards and a layout from the team this week, they're awesome!

IB Gallery Inspiration Week One and Two

Good afternoon!
Last week I decided to start a fun feature (that will be shared here on my blog and on my Instagram: danni.reid) and share how people in the gallery and around the industry inspire me.

The first card I chose was shared in the Inspired By Bring in the New Year gallery.
I was inspired by Vicky Hayes from Crafting Clare
Her cute card was so beautifully designed and perfect for the theme.  I was inspired by her design and created a card inspired by it.

Here is her CUTE card
Happy New Year card

This is definitely a fabulous start to the new year right?  Love it!
And here is my card inspired by her card.

Friendship is the Sweetest Flower card

And this week, I was Inspired By DJ from Sendable Sentiments

Her cute card caught my eye because I love the theme and the design.  I was inspired to stay with the overall theme and design to create a coffee-themed card for my stash.

Here is her CUTE card
Coffee & Friends card

Isn't it fabulous?
The Inspired By gallery is always so amazing and jumpstarts so many ideas for all the participants and dt too :)

And here is my card inspired by her card.
You Got This --coffee  card

I used the awesome digital stamps from Graciellie Designs: Cheery Cocoa

And the gallery is looking inspiring again this week for our current challenge: Inspired By Hot Chocolate, it's going to be so hard because there's just not enough time to create a card for every card that inspires me weekly.
Thank you for visiting!

Wishing You a Beautiful Holiday

Good afternoon.  I created a Christmas card for the current challenge over @ ABC Christmas Challenge.

The challenge this month?
Anything Goes Christmas
or
B is for Bingo
I chose to create an "Anything Goes" Christmas card using some Christmas sentiment stamps and a candy cane stamp.  I pulled out the acrylic paint to create some red berries on the holly and contrast between the repeated sentiment.
Wishing You a Beautiful Holiday card
To create the patterned papers, I stamped the holly and merry sentiment using white chalk ink and then added the red berries and polka dots using red acrylic paint.  I die-cut a scalloped circle out of vellum and stamped the sentiment and candy cane.  After machine-stitching the sentiment tag, I adhered the sentiment to the vellum tag and the candy cane to the sentiment, and then Silhouette-cut a bow and added some sequins.
Thank you so much for stopping by!

Beautiful and Bright tag card

Good morning.
I am back with a card inspired by the challenge over at CAS Christmas card challenges.
Beautiful and Bright card

Here is the challenge this month:
Make a card with a Tag on it
I chose to stamp a tag using a fun Christmas holly stamp and then used a toothpick to paint the berries using acrylic paint.  I stamped the sentiment using a glittered silver ink and then scored some lines into the white cardstock for interest.  I finished the tag with some glittered ribbon I had in my stash and adhered to the white cardstock mat and then to my card base.
