one cute chick

Good morning.  Today is another new challenge over at Inspired By. In this pic I was really inspired by the monochromatic green, the curves to the hills, the openness of the hills (like a ranch or garden) the pop of yellow and brown and the wood.
Laurel sure knows how to inspire (as you all know) because each week I am inspired by so many things in the pics, I really can’t narrow it down to one thing and usually (like this week) create more than one card or project inspired by the pics….looooove that!
I had so many ideas in-mind when I saw the pic that I created all three of the cards and I still have so many more ideas and March is a busy birthday month so it will be very helpful starting point for those cards.

My first card today is the one I submitted for the team (and was super excited to try to execute because I love this time of year, springtime, chicks, bunnies, gardens and green....hope for warmer days) but not the first one I created.  I thought my first card idea would need more explaining because it’s completely inspired by the pic but not as obvious, so I thought I’d share it here on the blog.

But first, let's take a look at the card I submitted for the post on the blog.

One Cute Chick card

Here is the inspiration pic, love.

Using my Silhouette Cameo I cut the hills using the Stitched Hillside Banners
I cut the chick from Couple of Chicks.
The sentiment is One Cute Chic
The clouds were from Cloud Raining Hearts
The stamp frame is Stamp by Silhouette
And the paper peeking out behind the hills is Pebbles Blue Blankie and I love this gingham for Easter.

Here's a close-up of that cute paper, love the softness of the gingham and it's nice and big..smile.  I pop-dotted the clouds to layer onto the paper and over the stamp frame.

And, here's that cute chick, just love him so much!

I hope you'll pop on over to The BLOG to see what the amazing team created and to see our guest for this week, she's amazing indeed!

Bunny Stop Here pop-up card
Open it up to see the bunny pop up in the carrot garden.

This is my first card that I created inspired by the picture.  But, since it wasn't predominately green in the color scheme, the curves were created with scallops and the stitching was focused because of the inspiration piece, I thought it would need more explanation than just the post on the design blog.

I was inspired by the open hills (made me think of a garden) monochromatic color scheme (blue scallops and the garden leaves), the rounded hills made me think of scallops, the pop of yellow and orange inspired the sun and carrots, the wood (fence on the front of the card and carrot garden sign) and the stitching (front of card, sun and scallop background) so much to be inspired by!

It's a little hard to tell in the pic, but the scallops are monochromatic blues for the background and the garden is monochromatic too.

The stitching was also a big inspiration and starting point for these two cards so I shared a pic of the stitching that I used to give the background even more details.

Lastly, my card I created (with a specific recipient in-mind) was also completely inspired by the challenge pic this week. I was inspired by the green monochromatic colors, the curves inspired the coffee cart awning, wooden coffee cart inspired by the house, scripty letter sentiment were inspired by the hillside angles and tree colors and the pops of yellow on the hearts of the coffee cups.

Coffee & More Coffee card

I used the Silhouette Design Store cuts: Coffee Cup To GoPolaroid (to create the coffee cart)
Coffee Coffee and More Coffee sentiment

Inside of card
stamped sentiment: Sassy Coffee Stamps from Teri Anderson, could NOT love this set more and you'll be seeing cards with it in the very near future, for some upcoming stuff ;)  but I couldn't resist to use it for the inside sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by and I can't wait to see how the pic will inspire you this week.
