thankful & grateful

Good morning!  I am excited to be back sharing my take on the newest challenge over @ IB this week. I am looking forward to sharing how the inspiration this week, was my starting point for a very special birthday card.

 I was inspired by:

the gorgeous fall colors and the wall

Hope your birthday...

The bouquet is inspired by all the gorgeous colors in the swag and wreath. The orange flowers are a rusty orange color and I love using these colors for a fall birthday for a flower-loving recipient!

I love these colors together and am so happy to have been inspired to use them from the photo prompt.

And there's the additional sketch this week

be my boo

Good morning!  I am excited to be back sharing my take on the newest challenge over @ IB this week. I love this fun ghost inspiration this week, so much fun!

 I was inspired by:

the colors, Halloween, fun background, and the ghost

I decided to work with a lot of diecuts this week to create my Halloween scene. I began with a fence die from Papertrey Ink

(click pictures for links)

I then cut my ghost, to go coffee, and spiders using my Silhouette Cameo

I cut my background using a die from The Greetery

I distressed the white cardstock after cutting it using the Greetery die using my Papertrey Ink

This card was a lot of fun to make and is very shimmery with all the glittered cardstock.

I created all the layers this week using Distress Ink Fossilized Amber, Distress Ink Frayed BurlapPapertrey Ink Smokey ShadowPapertrey Ink WeathervanePapertrey Ink Soft Stone

To create the leaf frame, I used the soft stone ink and distressed the cardstock.

I used the stencil to create the gingham for this card.

colors of fall

 Good morning.
This week's IB challenge is inspired by fall colors! I love fall, it's definitely my favorite and I love creating cards for this time of year.  I love different color combinations for fall cards, and these lighter shades definitely made me excited to get started on this week's challenge.

I was inspired by:
the colors, fall, autumn, brushstrokes (woodgrain)

Autumn Greetings card
This stamp set from Hello Bluebird (Autumn Greetings) is so fun
and the cute pumpkins were fun to stamp onto distressed cardstock and then diecut.

And the sketch (inspired by the photo challenge) this week

I rotated the sketch this week
(and had a very special, creative, friend in-mind when creating this card)
This stamp set is the Big Scripty Words from Lawn Fawn

playful patterns

 Good morning.
This week's IB challenge is inspired by patterns! I have so many little background stamps that I don't use often, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to challenge myself to use them.

I was inspired by:
the pillows, the mix of patterns, and the circles/scallops.

Big Hugs card

To create my patterns:
I began by punching out circles from white cardstock.
I decided to tape off the bottom portion of the circle using washi tape so that my pattern would be straight and leaving the bottom to look like the scallops in the picture.  Using an assortment of little stamps (including the inside of a watermelon set), I began stamping above the washi tape, in various colors and patterns.  Then, once the ink had dried a little, I placed my washi tape on the stamped portion so I could use the ink to distress the bottom "scallop" the same color.  When I had finished doing the neutral scallop bottoms, I thought about the pillows with a large image for the focal and thought I would include one in my assortment of patterned circles to resemble a decorative pillow.

And here's the sketch this week

'tis the season card
I used the same techniques to create these Christmas circle/scallops using the
inside of a watermelon stamp, and it really was fun to play with the various patterns.
