colors of fall

 Good morning.
This week's IB challenge is inspired by fall colors! I love fall, it's definitely my favorite and I love creating cards for this time of year.  I love different color combinations for fall cards, and these lighter shades definitely made me excited to get started on this week's challenge.

I was inspired by:
the colors, fall, autumn, brushstrokes (woodgrain)

Autumn Greetings card
This stamp set from Hello Bluebird (Autumn Greetings) is so fun
and the cute pumpkins were fun to stamp onto distressed cardstock and then diecut.

And the sketch (inspired by the photo challenge) this week

I rotated the sketch this week
(and had a very special, creative, friend in-mind when creating this card)
This stamp set is the Big Scripty Words from Lawn Fawn

playful patterns

 Good morning.
This week's IB challenge is inspired by patterns! I have so many little background stamps that I don't use often, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to challenge myself to use them.

I was inspired by:
the pillows, the mix of patterns, and the circles/scallops.

Big Hugs card

To create my patterns:
I began by punching out circles from white cardstock.
I decided to tape off the bottom portion of the circle using washi tape so that my pattern would be straight and leaving the bottom to look like the scallops in the picture.  Using an assortment of little stamps (including the inside of a watermelon set), I began stamping above the washi tape, in various colors and patterns.  Then, once the ink had dried a little, I placed my washi tape on the stamped portion so I could use the ink to distress the bottom "scallop" the same color.  When I had finished doing the neutral scallop bottoms, I thought about the pillows with a large image for the focal and thought I would include one in my assortment of patterned circles to resemble a decorative pillow.

And here's the sketch this week

'tis the season card
I used the same techniques to create these Christmas circle/scallops using the
inside of a watermelon stamp, and it really was fun to play with the various patterns.

sweat tea

Good morning. This week's IB challenge is such a beautiful one with so many things to be "inspired by".  I love the beautiful teacups, the sweet bird, and all the beautiful layers the cups inspire.

This week, I was inspired by:

the teacups

the beautiful patterns on the teacups

the stacking cups

the bird

the colors

So pretty right?

Sending Love Card

To create my teacups, I die cut the teacup using my Silhouette Cameo and then
distressed them and stamped them using ink from Ink To Paper (Berry Sorbet, Spring Rain).
To create the stripes on the bottom cup, I washi taped stripes and distressed the colors to match
the beautiful flowers.  Super fun to play with all this inky goodness!  I wanted to create an embossed
mat to stack these layers, so I die cut the script onto the cardstock and then stitched around the circle before adding my scallop circle frame.

This week we have a super fun and versatile sketch "Inspired By" the inspiration photo.

I created a card inspired by the sketch this week.
I began by rotating it and then decided to create
a Halloween card for one of the littles.

Hey Cute Ghoul Card

I created a little scene using my fence die-cut (old, I think from Papertrey ink) and some
stamps honoring the now closed, fantastic stamp designs: Paper Smooches Halloweenies

give a dog a bone IB139

Good morning. This week's IB challenge is inspired by our four-legged friends, those with ears, tail, whiskers, and..... a bark :)  I, personally, have a black and tan hound and black pug and I love them so much, I couldn't imagine a day without their sweet faces and happy disposition.  So, naturally, I was super excited to create several cards inspired by this sweet photo prompt this week.  (I only managed to get pictures of one of the cards though, little forgetful before giving some out on National Dog's Day yesterday)

Isn't it so cute?  Four-legged friends, and fun patterns and colors!  I was inspired by the dog in the top right corner for my card.  I die-cut a dog using white cardstock and then used my distress inks and stamps to create the patterns and colors.  I really had a lot of fun creating this little guy and his friends and can't wait to see the amazing creations from the designers and in the gallery this week!

For the array of bones on the inspiration photo, I stamped paw prints in a light stone color.

And here's the sketch this week

punny sentiments

Good morning.  This week's IB challenge is inspired by PUNS!  I love using puns on my cards and with all that we have going on in the world, who couldn't use a cute card with a giggle?

I ordered this cute set from CZ designs Let's Connect and it is so much fun to create cards and tags.  I have used several of the sentiments already, however this card had a very specific recipient in-mind and so I printed the pun on the inside with my printer.

Hello card

aren't these the cutest animals?

Inside reads:
And here's the optional sketch this week if you don't have a pun in a stamp set or want to print one on your printer.
