IB175 Hello Baby Flowers

paper hugs from the heart ♥ week twenty

We are back with a new challenge this week @ IB card challenges.

I was inspired by the rug, colors, flowers and large scripty sentiment

Good Luck card
To create the "rug" I cut a wonky rectangle and "watercolored" it and a block of paper to cut my sentiment outline.  I used Catherine Pooler Tutti Frutti and Seafoam and loved the results.  I inked up a piece of acetate and then sprayed it with water and began painting on watercolor cardstock.  When it was dry, I die-cut the sentiment outline and layered it with my scripty "good", then cut "luck from the remaining pieces.  I then stamped and layered my Flower Market Bouquet Stamps from The Greetery

And here's the sketch this week, inspired by the photo inspiration.

IB174 Orange You Lemonade

paper hugs from the heart ♥ week nineteen

We are back with a new challenge this week @ IB card challenges.

I was inspired by the colors, fruit, and a sweet sentiment!

You're the Sweetest card

I stamped each of the sliced fruits in Papertrey Ink Soft Stone before stamping with my yellow and pink.  I liked the contrast it gives the fruit.  To create my sentiment, I stamped a tag using Papertrey Ink Fresh Snow onto black cardstock.  Once it had dried for a minute, I added the sentiment using Papertrey Ink Smokey Shadow.

IB173 Celebrate Her

paper hugs from the heart ♥ week eighteen

We are back with a new challenge this week @ IB card challenges.

I was inspired by the colors, flowers, theme, and sketch this week!

For You Mom

I fell in love with the new release over @ The Greetery this month.  The Spring Market Collection is filled with baskets, hands, flowers, and sentiments, I love it all.  I chose to use the Flower Market Bouquet and Market Baskets Die for my first card. I die-cut a large polka dot panel for the background to reflect the circle in the photo inspiration.

I love that you can stamp and die-cut the main bouquet and individual elements to layer in the bouquet.  And these baskets?  Three sizes? All the elements to create the cutest baskets, linings, and labels, it's all perfect and so fun!

And here's the sketch this week, inspired by the photo inspiration.

For You card

I created this card, inspired by the sketch (except I moved the sentiment below) using the Holding Hands Stamp and Die set.  So fun!  There's even a nail polish stamp, bracelet die, it's all too fun!

IB172 Happy Retirement

paper hugs from the heart ♥ week seventeen

We are back with a new challenge this week @ IB card challenges.

I was inspired by the grey/silver against the white with pops of green, theme, and palm trees.

How Lucky We Are...
I absolutely LOVE this quote by Winnie the Pooh (A.A. Milne)and knew I would be using it on retirement cards this year.  We have so many co-workers/friends retiring this year, friends we've shared memories and laughs with and so it seemed only appropriate to share this sentiment with them.

And here's the sketch this week, inspired by the photo inspiration.

Lovely Friend card

I moved the sentiment up to the tag (circle) in the sketch, and stayed with a summery theme.

I was inspired to create another card using the sketch but decided to rotate the large block and move the circle to the bottom, but it was completely inspired by the sketch, it definitely jumpstarted creative ideas.
I chose to use the Winnie quote again for this retirement card.

IB171 I Woof Celebrating

paper hugs from the heart ♥ week sixteen

We are back with a new challenge this week @ IB card challenges.

I was inspired by the dogs, background, and theme.

Birthday Wishes card

I love this sweet digital image from Lili of the Valley.  The background was fun to blend and my kids said it reminds them of sherbert, I thought so too, fun to do.  I used the same technique from THIS POST and the results are so smooth and fun!
